Parish Celebration of the Feast of St Liborius.
Our Parish Patron, St Liborius, is also the Patron Saint of Paderborn, Germany. We take pride in being the only parish in Australia to have St Liborius as our patron, and to be able to say we can trace our origin direct to the missionary work of Dr Henry Backhaus in the Diocese of Sandhurst. Born of an illustrious family in Germany, Liborius became a priest, then later became a bishop of Le Mans, France. He was also a companion of St Martin of Tours. St Liborius was a bishop for 49 years. He died on 23rd July 397 A.D. As our patron, let us call for St Liborius intercession for our parish, that we may grow together in Faith, in hope and in love.
Today is also my final weekend in this parish. I’m taking on my new Parish assignment on Wednesday, this week. Thank you St Liborius.
your time, talent and treasure for the life of the parish & myself.
me that faith is not about being successful in all our plans, works & projects in the parish, but in being faithful
me as a friend and as part of your parish family.
me to love even more this priestly ministry
there, supporting and encouraging me in what I do, in my plans and projects & even at time my idiosyncrasies
not only the door of your parish but also the door of your hearts
out to me & meeting me halfway for otherwise things would have never been better.
in the life of & for the betterment of the parish and of the Church in general
faith – rain or shine, summer or winter, autumn or spring.
in the faith of the Church: Often unacknowledged, unappreciated or even taken for granted.
